Our strategy

Prior to his appointment as a Chief Executive Officer at Azerfon, Mr. Pahnke served as a Chief Strategy, Marketing, Sales & Customer Experience Officer (ad interim) at Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI). Before, he was the Chief Strategy and Wholesale Officer of Telekom Romania and held various Management positions in Deutsche Telekom Group. He has 30 years of industry experience in fixed and mobile telecommunications, Internet and Media/TV. Mr. Pahnke gained his rich experience across diverse markets including Germany, France, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Middle East. He holds a PHD in Business administration from University of Poitiers as well as a MBA in infrastructure operations management from the French elite University ENSPTT. Mr. Pahnke is an internationally respected industry expert.

Igbal Yusifov is the member of the Board of Directors at “Azerfon” LLC. He was appointed as a head of Current Planning and Service Quality Control unit of “Aztelekom” 2018. Possessing rich experience in telecommunication industry in Azerbaijan, Mr. Yusifov took various management positions in “Aztelecom” in the period from 1995 to 2018. He also worked as a Director of Sumgait Telecommunication Junction during 2016-2017.

Igbal Yusifov studied at Azerbaijan Technical University from 1984 to 1992. He also completed academic courses and gained a diploma of “Strategic researches and public security management” at the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Markus Golder has 20 years of Management experience in the field of telecommunications across Europe and the Middle East. He has a highly successful track record mainly in commercial leadership functions in reputable telecommunication companies, such as Swiss Sunrise, Bulgarian Vivacom, Nawras (Oman), and GO (Malta). He currently serves as Vice President Marketing at Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in Riyadh and as a Board Member of Intigral, a fully owned subsidiary of STC providing IP video products and billing services in the MENA region.

Hokuma Karimova has 14 years of extensive experience in public relations. She started her first leadership position in 2009 as the Director of the Department of Economic and Trade Relations at the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan, where she provided important services in expanding bilateral trade relations and conducting policy analysis on various sectors. Later, she successfully held leadership positions in large organizations such as the Representative Office of Portugal in Baku, Junior Achievement Azerbaijan, and the U.S. Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association. Since 2015, she worked as the head of the PR and Communications Department at YARAT Contemporary Art Space, contributing to local and international projects to promote contemporary art. Since 2023, she has been teaching Corporate Communications at ADA University. Hokuma Karimova studied International Relations and Diplomacy at Khazar University and Wartburg College in the USA. She completed her master's degree in Marketing and Communications with the MBA program at ADA University.

Fariz Jafarov has over 15 years of extensive experience in establishing and developing telecommunications sales infrastructure. He embarked on his career in retail sales in 2001, contributing directly to creating new sales channels and evolving a sales culture oriented towards telemarketing, thereby gaining leadership expertise.

Throughout his career, Fariz has held positions at prominent private and government entities such as "Carlsberg," the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and "Baku Electronics,". During his tenure, he spearheaded several new projects and notably left a lasting impact by significantly expanding the B2B sales channel. Presently, he holds the position of Director of Sales at "Azerfon" LLC.

Fariz Jafarov received his education at Baku State University from 2001 to 2005. He is an internationally certified sales, leadership, and auditing professional.

Ruslan Ramazanov is a seasoned professional with 12 years of experience in telecommunications, specializing in marketing and customer strategy. From 2012 to 2016, he held various roles at Azerfon LLC, including GeoMarketing, Market Research, Commercial Reporting, and Business Analysis, which laid the foundation for his successful career. Between 2016 and 2021, Ruslan worked as a Business Analysis Supervisor at the headquarters of Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He played a pivotal role in key strategic projects such as enhancing customer satisfaction, establishing the 5G network, and increasing customer value. His professional contributions were recognized with numerous commendations and awards. From 2021 to 2024, he led the Business Analysis, Customer Value Management, and Market Research departments at Azerconnect. Ruslan holds a Bachelor's degree in General Economics with honors from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. After completing his military service with the State Border Service, where he was awarded an honorary certificate, he earned his Master's degree in Commerce from Azerbaijan State University of Economics, again graduating with distinction.
